TRAINING RESTAURENTS
In order to facilitate practical restaurant sessions, the institute has two air-conditioned and carpeted mock-up restaurants. These restaurants are furnished with timber tables and chairs and are equipped with chillers, separate wash-up areas and stereo set ups. One of the wash-up areas consists of dish washers.
Moreover, separate steel cupboards which can be locked are allocated for each class which hold separate batch of crockery, cutlery, linen and glassware to be utilized during the practical sessions.
TRAINING KITCHENS
SLITHM has several training kitchens fully equipped with modern kitchen appliances. Cookery subjects under different courses starting from Apprenticeship level to Diploma level make use of these training facilities.
Practical work is an integral component of cookery related subjects of SLITHM courses. Well equipped kitchen facilities ensure that you get the best environment to master practical skills necessary for obtaining industry standard jobs.
LIBRARY
The SLITHM Library is a source of information. It plays a vital role in catering to the information and educational needs of both course participants and professional staff of SLITHM and tourism sector.
The fully-fledged Library is well stocked with over 10,000 Books, over 1000 tourism reports and selected periodicals.
Among the library’s special collections are the world tourism Organization (WTO) publication, Training Manuals, Company Annual Reports, Periodicals Holdings, tourism statistics, students project reports and the valuable Sri Lanka Collection.
Library will be open week days during ordinary working hours (8.30 am. to 4.10 pm.)
COMPUTER LAB
SLITHM consist of a well equipped computer laboratory on the 5th floor. The lab caters to the students’ current information technology needs with state-of-the-art stand alone computers with Internet facilities, enabling students to improve their knowledge and conduct research in a calm and comfortable environment.
